4.2.2 General-Purpose

Messages

(Non-Procedural)

Message transmission using a proprietary user message format is performed between the stations connected on the

PCLINK network. To perform message transmission as the master, use the MSG-SND function, and to receive the
message as a slave, use the MSG-RCV function (as in MEMOBUS protocol, the response is not accompanied). There
are four message channels for general-purpose messaging (used together with MEMOBUS messages). Master/slave
selection is possible for each channel (the MSG-SND function channel is for transmission, and the MSG-RCV function
channel is for reception). Four message transmissions are possible at the same time.
* General-purpose message is the call name during GL series use. In the MP series, these are called non-procedural.
