Pure Cinema Auto1, Auto2, On, Off
Controls DVD-V frame rate to simulate cinema screen picture
quality. Video sources can be recorded on video or film. Sources
recorded on video have a 30 frames-per-second (NTSC) rate, and
sources recorded on film have a 24 frames-per-second rate. When
the Component parameter is set to Progressive, the RT-10 converts
sources recorded on film to 60 frames-per-second to create a more
natural picture.
Select Auto1 for most video sources. If the picture on the display
device screen appears unnatural, select another setting. Repeat this
process to achieve the best picture quality.
YNR (Luminance Noise Reduction) off to max
Controls the amount of noise reduction applied to the Y component
(luminance) present in video signals.
CNR (Chrominance Noise Reduction) off to max
Controls the amount of noise reduction applied to the C component
(chrominance) present in video signals.
MNR (Mosquito Noise Reduction) off to max
Controls the amount of noise reduction applied to mosquito (dot
crawl) noise present in video signals, which produces video artifacts
around picture edges as a result of MPEG compression.
BNR (Black Noise Reduction) off to max
Controls the amount of noise reduction applied to black noise
present in video signals.
Sharpness High soft to fine
Controls the sharpness of high-frequency (finely detailed) video
signals.
Sharpness Mid soft to fine
Controls the sharpness of mid-frequency (less detailed) video sig-
nals.
Detail off to max
Controls the sharpness of details around picture edges.
White Level min to max
Controls the white level of video signals.
Black Level min to max
Controls the black level of video signals.
Black Setup 0 IRE, 7.5 IRE
Corrects floating black color. Settings are based on International
Radio Engineer (IRE) units: 0 IRE is equivalent to 0.286V and 7.5 IRE
is equivalent to 0.339V.
