TROUBLESHOOTING

No image is displayed.

No power is supplied

1. Check that the POWER switch is turned on, and the power cord is connected firmly into

the unit and the AC outlet.

2. Check the DIP switch setup referring to page 12 &14.

3. Check the camera connection to the VIDEO IN terminal, and the power to the camera is

supplied on the Remote site.

4. Is the monitor connected correctly on the Control site?

Check the monitor connection on the Control site.

5. Is the Remote site unit set to a Receiver wrongly? Set the unit to a Transmitter using 100

CONFIGURATION menu.

6. Are network setups and connections made correctly?

<When the Receiver is a WJ-NT204>

Check the response from the other site using ‘ping’ command as follows.

On the Remote Controller of your own site, press the DIAL, then enter the IP address of

the other site. Press the ENTER.

When ‘Ping time-out’ appears, confirm network setups and connections for both the trans-

mitter and receiver.

When ‘Ping OK’ appears, follow the items below

<When the Receiver is a PC>

Confirm the following on MS-DOS window. C: \Windows>ping ***.***.***.***[ENTER]

When “100% loss” appears, settings may be insufficient.

When other than “0% loss” appears, connection may be disturbed by noise or the like.

7. Are you trying to connect the Control site with more than four Remote sites?

A Remote site is only allowed to connect with a maximum of four Remote sites. “Ping”
command is valid in this case.

8. Is the 10/100BASE status indicator lit on the front panel?

If not, is the 10/100BASE connection (RJ-45, 8-pin) made correctly on the rear panel?
Connect securely the 10/100BASE cable.

9. Is the 10/100BASE status indicator lit on the front panel?

If not, is the 10/100BASE cable selected correctly in style from X-over and straight?
Use an X-over cable to connect between 2 hubs. A straight cable is used for cascade port
connection or to connect between a hub and a terminal. A circuit tester will be
helpful to check cable wiring.

10. Is the 10/100BASE status indicator lit on the front panel?

If not, is there any shorting circuit or wrong wiring in the connector?
Check the connector and wiring.

11. Is the 10/100BASE status indicator lit on the front panel?

If not, are you using a too long cable?
Category 5 cables (length: 100 m) are allowed to be used.

12. Is the 10/100BASE status indicator lit on the front panel?

If not, are you using too many hubs in one segment?
A maximum of 4 hubs for 10BASE-T, 2 hubs for 100BASE-T is allowed.

13. Are network addresses set correctly?

Is the IP address set correctly?
When using the private line, set the IP address to [10.0.0-10.255.255.255], [172.16.0.0-
172.31.255.255] or [192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255]. When using the public line, get an
available IP address from the network administrator.

14. Are network addresses set correctly?

Is the IP address repeated with another equipment?
Check the IP address on the opposite site.

15. Are you trying to connect with the transmitter that is set to JPEG?

If Yes, the WJ-NT204 receiver cannot connect with the transmitter set to JPEG. Only PC
sites can access.

16. Is the mode setup made correctly?

Is the same “Subnet” set for relevant Network Interface Units on both the Remote and
Control site?
Set the same “Subnet Mask” for all units, e.g., 255.255.255.0, when they are connected
within one network.
Ask the network administrator when there is more than one “Subnet”.

17. Are network addresses set correctly?

Is the “Default Gateway” set correctly on the Control site? You need this setup when con-
necting the Control site with another network.
Set the “Gateway” correctly to rout the communications between deferent networks.

18. Is the unit set up correctly?

Is the 220 CALLER IP CHECK menu set to ON?
If Yes, calling may be rejected. Register mutual IP addresses in the directory each other.

The Network Interface Unit does not
start after power-on.

No connection is made.
