the SACNFG file, it will be applied on the second collection run after the changes have been
applied.

o

SAPROC

This is the sub process which runs whenever a collection is being started by the SAMGR process.
Based on the number of CPU(s) to use in the SACNFG file, SAMGR creates the same number of
processes each running in their own CPU. This makes the host module act like a distributed
process making the collection faster and more efficient. Each SAPROC process is assigned a disk
by the SAMGR process. When an SAPROC process finishes a disk, the SAMGR proc assigns a
new disk to it. When there are no more disks and all the SAPROC processes have returned data to
the SAMGR process, the SAMGR process sleeps until the next collection run time.

o

SADLL

This is a separate process which is also used by the SA Client modules. This is a privileged
process which gathers information on the Free Space Table of a physical disk. This then processes
fragmentation free data for the physical disk. This file needs to be licensed.

The SA Client uses the following modules:

o

SASVR

This is the main process which fetches information from the database files, formats the data and
creates the contents that is displayed in the browser.

o

SADLL

This module is used to get the fragmentation data of a physical disk.

The SA Admin uses the following modules:

o

SASVR

When the admin link is accessed, this process displays the run time window through which the user
can edit the SACNFG file.

The SA Log uses the following modules:

o

SASVR

When the admin log link is accessed, this process displays the page containing a date matrix where
the user can see which dates have collections. This process queries the DMATRIX and DRUNLOG
files.

SA Alert Admin Def uses the following modules:

o

SASVR

When the alert admin def link is accessed, this process displays the page to which users can add
disk alert definitions, file alert definitions and file exclude definitions. This page also displays the
current contents of the alert definitions based on ALDEFDD, ALDEFFD, ALDEFFH, and ALDEFFX.
