The fragmentation trending window displays a bar graph for the total number of fragments of
different size on the disk. It also displays a bar graph for the different sized fragments present on the
disk. All this information is shown for the number of days selected (as long as there is data for the
days)

The legend for both the graphs displays the different fragments. The same information is displayed
in the form of a table below the graphs.

4-10-2 Description

The Fragmentation Window lets the user select a 7/30 days Time Period to which to display the
fragmentation data of a disk. Users can also set the Start From date of the trending. The
Fragmentation Trend Table displays the fragment counts and breakdowns of the disk from the Start
From date up to 7/30 days. If not enough date is available, only the available dates with data is
shown. The breakdown is categorized as follows:

 <= 1 MB – free fragments less than or equal to 1 MB
 <= 10 MB – free fragments greater than 1 MB but less than or equal to 10 MB
 <= 100 MB – free fragments greater than 10 MB but less than or equal to 100 MB
 <= 1 GB – free fragments greater than 100 MB but less than 1 GB
 > 1 GB – free fragments greater than 1 GB

The Fragmentation Trend Graphs is generated based on the Fragmentation Trend Table data. It
displays the count and size (MB) of free fragments per date.

By default, the fragmentation trend window displays data for the date selected in the

Fragmentation

window.

The Fragmentation Trend Window also has the capabilities:

 Print – Prints the Fragmentation Trend Table.
 Export to Excel – Exports the Fragmentation Trend Table to MS Excel.
 Help – Displays the help for this window.
