2 Installation and Configuration
Installation can be done either using the Wizard Installation, Manual Installation or IPSETUP. The Wizard
Installation automates most of the install steps but requires Java Run Time on the PC where the installer is
run. Configuration data is collected through user input and then the particular configuration files of WVP are
updated and pushed to the NonStop server. This process greatly simplifies and streamlines the EA install
process.
2-1 Considerations & Requirements
o You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDF documents included in the install. If
needed, visit Adobe's website to download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader:
http://www.adobe.com
o If you want to use DSM/SCM for the install please review the USRGUIDE.PDF which contains
the IPSetup User Guide located in the NSK_SW subdirectory prior to attempting the install.
o Uninstall any previous version of Web ViewPoint Storage Analyzer.

o HP NonStop Server
o PC with Windows Environment
2-1-1-2 Minimum OS Release:
o NonStop Kernel release H06.10 onward
o NonStop Kernel release J06.03 onward
2-1-1-3 Software
o Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and later
o Web ViewPoint - H01AAX and later
o Java Version 1.5.12 or later
2-1-1-4 General Considerations
o NonStop Storage Analyzer uses popups, cookies and ActiveX controls. This may cause NSA
not to work on browsers that have ActiveX control disabled, cookies disabled, popups blocked
or where system or antivirus utilities have popup blockers. You will need to set the browser to
allow popups. For ActiveX controls, the browser security should allow the download of signed
ActiveX control and run ActiveX controls.
o NonStop Storage Analyzer uses java applets that need the Sun JVM installed on the Internet
Explorer browser. In newer versions of Internet Explorer, the JVM is not pre-installed and has to
be installed separately. You will not be able to use some functionality without the JVM. To install
the JVM, download and install the Sun Java runtime from Sun Web site.
2-1-1-5 Monitor Settings
o The compatible screen resolution range for NonStop Storage Analyzer is
o Lowest : 1024 by 768
o Highest: 1280 by 1024
If the resolution is made any lower than the data in the graphs will not be very clear, as the data
elements become too small. Resizing is not possible at very low resolutions.
