Chapter 2

PowerFlex HMI Interface Board

Computer Configuration

The HMI Interface Board module and a computer must be configured with a
unique IP address to properly communicate. When connected to a network with
a DHCP Server present, the configuration of the computer is automatic as it can
be configured to receive a Dynamic IP address. If the computer is connected to a
network without a DHCP Server (or is connected directly to the HMI Interface
Board module), the computer must be configured with a Static IP address. This
section provides guidance to configuring this Static IP address.

The remainder of this discussion will assume that the HMI Interface Board
module is using the default IP address of 169.254.0.10. If the HMI Interface
Board module has been configured with a different Static IP address, choose an
appropriate Static IP address for the computer (within the same subnet).
