WI-FI ROUTER
JEEP COMPASS
PROCEDURE STEPS:
NOTE: Using a test light, ensure the cigarette lighter outlet being used is ignition switched. Power must not be
present with the ignition in the OFF position.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Pull up on shifter knob (3) and remove.
3. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, separate the
bezel (4) from the trim ring (5), if equipped.
4. Remove the screws (2) and using trim stick C-4755 or
equivalent, separate the trim ring (5) from the shifter
console (6).
5. Look inside and note position of the retaining bosses.
6. Using special tool 9857 Power Outlet Remover (4), in-
sert the tool forcing bosses (1) out of base.
7. Pull out the base (3) through mounting ring by gently
rocking pliers.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector.
9. Mount and install the Wi-Fi router under the passenger
seat with the provided materials and connect the Wi-Fi
power harness to the router.
10. Route the Wi-Fi power harness under the center con-
sole to the shifter housing and cut the harness to the
proper length. Ensure the harness is tucked under the
center console to minimize visible wire.
