unauthorized users. Once you set this password, you
have to type it whenever you boot the system.
To set the power-on password, follow the same
procedures as in setting the setup password.
To enable the password function, you must
strap pins 1-2 on JP2 located on the system baseboard.
The factory default setting disables the password
function with pins 2-3 strapped. See Figure 2-1 in
Chapter 2 for the location of JP2.
To change the existing password, enter the current
password at the prompt when you boot the system,
followed by a slash (/) and the new password you wish
to specify. Again, be careful when typing the password
as it does not appear on screen when you enter it.
