• For 64-bit Operating Systems, the Application Development and
IIS 6 Management Compatibility role services must be installed
with IIS.
4. Make sure the Windows PowerShell feature is installed. It is installed
from the Server Manager.
5. Windows Server 2008 uses Windows Mobile Device Center for PC-
device data synchronization. You must install the Desktop Features
Experience before installing WMDC. Please see
“Installing the Desktop
Features Experience” on page 24 .
6. You must set up a Windows Mobile Partnership between the PC and the
device. Please refer to
“Using Windows Mobile Device Center Software”
on page 23 and “Setting Up a Partnership” on page 23 .
7. IntelliTrack uses Remote Data Access for workstation-batch database
communication. You must determine your setup option and go through
the RDA setup configuration steps before installing the IntelliTrack
application. Please see
“RDA Configuration” on page 13 .
8. After you install ISRP, test your setup by going to the Batch Utility and
testing the Sync URL setting. Please see
“Sync URL Setting” on
page 44 for more information.
9. If you are using a Firewall, certain ports must be set as exceptions.
Please refer to
“Applying Firewall Exceptions” on page 20 .
10. Make sure that User Account Control (UAC) is disabled; please see
“Disabling User Account Control in Windows Vista/Windows Server
2008” on page 4

11. Determine the IntelliTrack Device Installation that you will use for
installing the IntelliTrack application to the device. Please refer to
“Determining your Device Installation” on page 48 .

Prerequisites

XP/Windows
Server 2003
If you are using Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, follow these basic
steps for batch installation preparation.
1. Familiarize yourself with the RDA components. Please refer to
“Remote Data Access Components” on page 11 .
2. Determine the RDA setup option that you will use “RDA Configuration”
on page 13 .
3. Make sure that IIS is installed and operational. You will use IIS 5.1
with the Windows XP Operating System. Please refer to your Windows
documentation for more information on installing IIS.
4. Install Microsoft ActiveSync and establish a partnership with your
device. Make sure that the connection setting is set for “work net-
