Automatic IIS Setup
When IIS and SQL Server reside on the same computer, you are able to use
the IntelliTrack Create IIS Dependencies Utility to automatically configure
your IIS setup for IntelliTrack CE Batch communication. When you use
this utility, IIS setup is automatically handled by the utility. The utility is
run during IntelliTrack software installation when you opt to automatically
configure IIS.
RDA
Configuration
for Automatic
IIS Setup In order to use the Create IIS Dependencies Utility for automatic IIS setup,
you must include IIS and SQL Server on the same computer in your RDA
setup.
Automatic IIS RDA Setup Options
IntelliTrack software supports two basic RDA configuration for automatic
IIS setup. Please note the following about these options:
• Works in both a domain and workgroup network environment.
• Since IIS and SQL Server reside on the same computer, the Create IIS
Dependencies Utility may be used to configure IIS and SQL Server
permissions.
In the first RDA setup example below, all RDA components are installed
on one local computer. This is the most straightforward setup option.
Notice that IIS and SQL Server are installed on this one computer, hence,
this RDA setup supports automatic IIS setup with the Create IIS Depen-
dencies Utility.
The next RDA setup example uses two computers: the IntelliTrack work-
station application and ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center
software are installed on the local computer. SQL Server, IIS, and the
workstation application are installed on a remote computer. Notice that IIS
