Additional Importing Information

To use the standard IntelliTrack import feature for importing item data, you
must use a delimited file or a fixed width file, which must include a spe-
cific format. The file type options and the file requirements are explained
in this section.

Import File
Type Options

The Access Import/Export type definitions are explained in

Table 6

.

Note: If the descriptions have commas, use the QuoteCommaQuote
delimited import method.

Import File Requirements

Item is a required field for Import to work. Description should always be
included in the imported file. Quantity and other fields listed in

Table 7,

“Import and Export Fields,” on page 140

are optional. If the quantity is not

Delimited

Expects a delimited file (.txt) with each field sepa-
rated (delimited) by comma only.

Tab Delimited

Expects a delimited file (.txt) with each field sepa-
rated by tabs only.

Semicolon Only
(;) Delimited

Expects a delimited file (.txt) with each field sepa-
rated by semicolons only.

QuoteComma-
Quote (",")
Delimited

A delimited file (.txt) with each text field enclosed in
double quotation marks and each field separated by
comma only.

FixedWidth

A very specific and less flexible file; it is for systems
that can only provide fixed width output; each field
must be the same width in every record.
