Manually
Configuring
IIS in
Windows XP
Operating
Systems

When you use RDA Setup Options 2 and 4, you must manually configure
IIS to run with the domain account. If you are using a Windows XP Oper-
ating System and need to manually configure IIS to run with the domain
account, please refer to the guidelines in this section.

Note: If the user passwords on your network are set to expire periodically,
they may need to be changed in both the Active Directory and in the virtual
directory configuration.

1.

Create a new domain user or select an existing domain user.

2.

Manually configure IIS by:
Creating a virtual directory with the physical location pointing to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\IntelliTrack\IIS.
Make a note of the virtual directory name.
The virtual directory should have read and write permissions.
Create an application and change Execute Permissions to Scripts and
Executables.

3.

Configure the virtual directory to impersonate the domain user account.
Please refer to the IIS documentation for instructions on configuring
the anonymous user identity.

4.

If the system drive on the computer uses NTFS, manually assign full
control permissions to the Internet user on the physical location of the
virtual directory. Replace permissions on all subfolders and files to
ensure that the Internet user can create files and execute programs.

5.

The Internet user’s domain account must be added to the DMS_USER
role in the database. This requires knowledge of SQL Administration.
Please refer to sp_addrolemember in the Transact-SQL Reference for
more details (available online at

www.msdn.microsoft.com

).
