Importing
Item Data

You can import existing item data into a Stockroom database. (The site,
location, and quantity data must be entered manually.)

Important: The following section covers only importing existing inventory
data into a clean (purged) Stockroom database. For information on gen-
eral importing and exporting, refer to

“Additional Importing Information” on

page 139

. Furthermore, only Runtime Access Import using Import/Append

is covered in this section.

Note: Data must be in the following order: Item#, Qty, Description,
Unit Cost, Category, Minimum Qty, Maximum Qty, Reorder Qty, and
Alt_No. If the item number already exists, it will be updated.

Note: The imported file must comply with the field order and specifica-
tions defined in

“Import and Export Fields” on page 140

. Refer to

“Addi-

tional Importing Information” on page 139

for more information on

importing.

Before importing inventory data, purge the entire Stockroom database to
start with a clean system.

1.

Select Tools Command tab > Purge group > Purge field drop-down
selections > Purge field drop-down list > Select from All Data selec-
tion.

The Purge All Data form appears; mark all the check boxes and click
the Do It button. (For more information about the Purge feature, please
