Enabling MAC Address-based Security on Ports
After you have configured a port for MAC address-based security, as
explained in “Configuring Ports” on page 1040, and confirmed the
settings, as explained in “Displaying Port Settings” on page 1044, you are
ready to activate the feature on the ports. This is accomplished with the
SWITCHPORT PORT-SECURITY command in the Port Interface mode.
This example of the command activates port security on ports 16 to 24:
awplus> enable
awplus# configure terminal
awplus(config)# interface port1.0.16-port1.0.24
awplus(config-if)# switchport port-security
To confirm the activation, return to “Displaying Port Settings” on
page 1044. The Security Enabled field in the SHOW PORT-SECURITY
INTERFACE command should have a status of Yes.
