In this chapter, you will learn how to deploy VLAN network in office. VLAN is a simple and
useful solution to protect your network against broadcast storming by creating segments
based on Layer 2 Ethernet information. Besides, it offers security by completely isolating
from each other.
6.1 Application Environment
There are some departments in a business company, such as Sales department, R&D
department. These departments can share the same company resource, such as ERP
system, print server. Here is one simple example for users to use VLAN function well.
The organization structure of Company A is below:
Company A has tree main departments, Sales department, R&D department, and
Administration department. Members in different departments can share the same
network resource, such as ERP server and data center. Besides, for need of department
information privacy, members with departments cannot communicate with each other.
