Configuring Your Adapter
for Quick Connect
Operation Quick Connect is a recently introduced DeviceNet feature that reduces
the amount of time that slave devices (in this case, your 1769
DeviceNet adapter) take to go from their powered-down state to a
state where they are ready to accept I/O connections.
To take advantage of this feature, you must enable the Quick Connect
parameter in both the scanner and on the 1769 DeviceNet adapter (or
other slave device). These settings are available using the Quick
Connect Tool in RSNetWorx, version 4.00 or later. Refer to Appendix C
for adapter Quick Connect performance capabilities.
To configure one or more adapters for Quick Connection operation,
follow these steps:
1. Go on-line with your DeviceNet network.
2. From the Network menu, choose Single Pass Browse.
3. From the Tools menu, select Quick Connect.
4. Choose Yes.
5. For each slave, choose Enable for both the scanner and slave
(adapter).
6. Choose Download.
7. Choose Close.
