6-8 Application Examples

Choose OK to accept the Polled configuration. You’ll now see the
1747-SDN Scanner Module screen. Choose the Input tab and you’ll see
this screen.

From this screen, you can map the input data received from the
1769-ADN into the input image table of the SLC 5/04 processor or to
the M1 file. For this example, we’ll map the data into the input image
table.

To map the data into the input image table, click on the 1769-ADN so
that it is highlighted. Now choose AutoMap.

Since we chose to map this data into the discrete input image table of
the processor, the data is shown mapped to the SLC 5/04 processor’s
input image beginning with word I:3.1.

Word I:3.0 is used for status information for the scanner. The next two
words received into input words I:3.1 and I:3.2 contain status
information for the 1769-ADN. Refer to chapter 2 of this manual for
additional information concerning status words.

The actual input data begins with word I:3.3 in the SLC 5/04
processor’s input image. Note that words I:3.1 through I:3.26 are
mapped. This corresponds to the 52 bytes or 26 words we entered
into the 1747-SDN scanner’s scanlist/Edit I/O Parameters screen
(which originally came from the 1769-ADN adapter’s Summary
screen).

Choose the Output tab. To map the outputs for the SLC 5/04
processor’s output image table, follow the same procedure used to
map the inputs. Output word O:3.0 is used for control information to
the scanner. Word O:3.1 contains the first actual output data. There is
no additional offset for the output data as there was for the input data.
