Route Primary Air Hoses
Primary hose runs from the rear of the seed meter(s) to
the distribution towers on the implement wings. It is rec-
ommended that the primary hose be routed from the
meters prior to weight installation, even though towers
are not yet installed (primary hose runs under weights).
Primary air hose is provided as one or more uncut coils
of part:
990-125R SEED HOSE 2 1/2 ID
Suggested cutting lengths, for configurations docu-
mented when this manual was most recently updated,
are given by tables at “Seed/Fertilizer Hose Port Maps”
on page 96.

270. Select the:
848-553C DECAL BIN-PRIMARY LINE SHEET
After cutting to length, hoses are identified with
decals from this sheet. As supplied, the sheet is not
fully populated, as most of the decals have already
been factory-applied.
Refer to Figure 118 (depicting rear view of meters and Y-tube
manifold)
271. If the drill is not a dual-hopper single-shoot model,
skip this step.
If at least three sets of letters ABCD remain on
sheet
, apply them to the left rear face of the
Y-tube mounting plate, in positions corresponding to
the hose routing from the left seed meter. Option-
ally, decals for meter ports EFGH may be applied on
the right inlets.
272. Select all of:
990-125R SEED HOSE 2 1/2 ID
Cut four or eight lengths of hose per the charts on
page 96 for the drill model.
Apply two identical decal letters to each hose,
5cm (2in) from one end (the meter end), and
30cm (12in) from the other end (the tower end, to
allow for possible further shortening).
Use ABCD letters for single-shoot (four hoses). Use
ABCDEFGH for eight hoses (double-shoot).
273. Select four (single shoot) or eight (dual shoot):
800-180C 2 1/2 AIR HOSE BAND CLAMP
(these may be found on tower tubes)
Slide a clamp onto one end of each hose.
