5.5.2 Installing the New Telco Alarms Module

1. Slide the new TAM board toward the alignment pins.

2. Fasten the retaining screw to secure the module to the chassis floor (Figure 56, “A”).

3. Connect the signal cable from the FP board to the TAM board. (See Figure 55.)

4. Connect the alarms cable from the rear of the chassis to the TAM board. (See Figure 55.)

5. If this is the last task you are performing inside the server chassis, replace the chassis cover and

reconnect any external devices and the power cord(s).

5.6

Replacing the SAS Backplane Board

The four-slot SAS backplane board is located at the rear of the HDD drive bay assembly. A sheet metal
bracket fastens the backplane to the top of the HDD drive bay assembly. In order to access the SAS
backplane board to replace it, you need to first remove the following components:

Chassis cover

Front bezel

Any hard disk drives installed

The bracket connecting the backplane to the drive bay assembly
