Operating the Machine
Connecting the Machine
» Before pluggmg in your machine, be
sure the electrical information on the
side of the machine A, below the hand
wheel, agrees with the range marked
on your electrical meter.
- Machines for Great Britain
and some other countries having similar wiring
standards are shipped from the factory without
a plug for connection to the mains.
Tne wires in this mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Slue: Neutral (N)
Brown: Live (L)
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead
of
this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals
in your plug, proceed as follows;
The wire which is coloured blue must be
connected to the terminal which 1$ marked
with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter L or coloured red.
If a 13 amp (SS1363) plug is used, a 3 amp fuse
must be fitted, or if any other type of plug is
used, a $ amp fuse must be fitted either in the
plug or adaptor or at the distribution board.
♦ To turn on the machine, connect plug
В to machine and plug C to your
socket outlet.
« To turn on the sewing light, press or
turn switch D as required. See illust­
ration.
To run the machine and control
speed, press the speed controller S
with your foot. The harder you press,
the faster the machine will sew.
CAUTION: Disconnect the power line plug from the
socket outlet when changing neepie$> feet or needle
plates or when leaving the machine unattended. This
eliminates the possipiiity of starting the machine Oy
accidentally pressing the speed controller
CAUTION: Because of the up and down move­
ment of the needle, you must work carefully and
watch the sewing area when operating the machine.

« Avant de brancher votre machine,
vérifiez si les informations électriques
A sur le côté de la machine sous le
volant, correspondent avec la gamme
indiquée sur votre compteur électri­
que.
♦ Pour mettre la machine en marche^
branchez la fiche B dans la machine et
la fiche C dans la prise de courant.
♦ Pour allumer la lampe à coudre,
pressez ou tournez Tinterrupteur D
selon le besoin. Voir ni lustration.
^ Pour faire marcher la machine et
contrôler la vitesse, appuyez sur la
commande de vitesse E avec le pied.
Plus que vous appuyez, plus vite la
machme fera la couture.
AVERTISSEMENT: Débranchez la fiche du
cordon électrique hors de la prise de courant
extérieur alors que vous changez l'aiguille, le
pied ou la plaque à aiguille, ou lorsque vous quit­
tez la machine. C'est ainsi que vous éliminerez
la possibilité d'actionner la machine en appuyant
accidentellement sur la commande de vitesse.
AVERTISSEMENT: Vu le mouvement de
montée et de descente de ¡'aiguille, il faut cou­
dre attentivement et surveiller la surface de
couture lorsque la machine est en marche.

9 Antes de conectar su máquina, asegú­
rese de que la información eléctrica A
en el lado de la máquina debajo del
volante, corresponda con la gama
indicada en su contador eléctrico.
• Para conectar la máquina, ponga
el enchufe B en la máquina y el
enchufe C en el tomacorriente.
• Para encender la luz para coser,
oprima o mueva el interruptor O,
según el caso. Véase ia ilustración.
9 Para poner en marcha la maquina y
controlar la velocidad, oprima el con-
troiador de velocidad E con el pie.
Cuanto más fuerte se oprime, más
rápida coserá la máquina.
PRECAUCION: Desconecte el enchufe de la
toma de comente cuando haga falta cambiar
¡as agujas, los prénsatelas o las planchas de
¡as agujas o cuando tenga que dejar la máquina
desatendida. Esto elimina i a posibilidad de que
ía máquina se ponga en marcha a! presionar el
controlador de velocidad accidentalmente.
PRECAUCiON: Debido ai movimiento hacia
arriba y abajo de la aguja, hace falta que Usted
trabaje cuidadosamente y mire la zona de
costura durante el funcionamiento de la
máquina.
