To troubleshoot the MPU:

1.

Verify that the power supply is operating properly. For more information, see "

Power supply

system failure

."

2.

Press the RESET button of the MPU to reset the MPU. After the MPU is reset, verify that the

corresponding RUN LED flashes green.

3.

Verify that the MPU is fully seated. You can unplug the MPU, plug it again, and make sure the MPU
is fully seated.

4.

If the switch has empty MPU slots, plug the MPU into an empty MPU slot, and verify that the MPU
can operate properly.

5.

If the failure still exists, contact the local agents or technical support engineers.

LPU failure

When the LPU is operating properly, the LC LED (callout 3 in

Figure 64

) flashes, and the RUN LED on the

LPU flashes in green.
When the two LEDs are not in the states mentioned above, the LPU has failed.
To troubleshoot the LPU:

1.

Verify that the MPU is operating properly. For more information, see "

MPU failure

."

2.

Use the display device command to verify that the software version is compatible with the LPU in
the current slot. If the software version is incompatible with the LPU, upgrade the software to a

compatible version.

3.

Calculate the overall power consumption, and make sure your power supply can provide enough
power.

4.

Verify that the LPU is fully seated. You can unplug the LPU, plug it again, and make sure the LPU is

fully seated.

5.

If the switch has empty LPU slots, plug the LPU into an empty slot, and verify that the LPU can
operate properly.

6.

If the failure still exists, contact the local agents or technical support engineers.

Switching fabric module failure

RUN (red/green)

Flashing green

The switching fabric module is operating properly.

Flashing red

The switching fabric is faulty.

Steady on

The switching fabric is faulty.

Off

The switch fabric module is faulty or absent.

When the switching fabric module is operating properly, the SFC LED (callout 2 in

Figure 64

) flashes

green, and the RUN LED on the switching fabric module flashes green.
When the two LEDs are not in the states mentioned above, the switching fabric module has failed.
