7. RELAY BROADCASTING OF A DOCUMENT

A relay broadcast operation consists in transmitting a document and a broadcast list number to a remote fax machine which
then automatically proceeds to broadcast the document received to all the subscribers on the broadcast list in question.

This list forms part of the directory of the remote fax machine; its number must be known by the initiating fax machine.

For this operation to succeed, the initiating and remote fax machines must both incorporate the “private mode” relay
broadcasting functionality.

Your fax machine incorporates this function; but it can be only used as the initiator of the relay broadcasting operation.

RELAY BROADCASTING: INITIATING FAX MACHINE

Place the document to be transmitted in your fax machine’s feeder. The first page should be at the bottom of the
stack.
Press MENU followed by 3, 6 and OK. The forwarding menu will be displayed. This is very similar to the one
used for standard fax transmission.

However, it incorporates an additional line for the number of the remotely held broadcasting list to be used.

The parameters required are:

-

the subscriber fax number (remote fax machine)

-

the number of the broadcast list

-

the scheduled connection time

-

the transmission mode: from feeder or memory

-

the number of pages to be transmitted

Only the first two lines are mandatory.

To confirm the relay broadcasting operation, press FAX/COPY.

The document you placed in the feeder will be sent to the remote fax machine which will proceed to
broadcast it.

RELAY BROADCASTING: REMOTE FAX MACHINE

The relay broadcasting process takes place automatically.

When the remote fax machine receives a document to be broadcast to one of its broadcast lists, it broadcasts the document
to the subscribers in the broadcast list whose number was sent to it by your (initiating) fax machine.

8. TRANSMISSION QUEUE

This queue comprises all the documents awaiting transmission (scheduled transmission, fax on demand documents,
polling operations).

Print out this list to find out which documents are pending and their schedules transmission times; you can then modify
this list using the navigator pad.

To access these functions:

Press MENU followed by 6 and OK.

PRINTING THE QUEUE
