10. VOICE CALL DURING TRANSMISSION

If a telephone handset is connected to your fax machine, you can have a conversation with the subscriber to whom you
are in the process of sending a fax.

WARNING: this function is only available for documents sent directly from the feeder (as opposed to those that are loaded
into memory first).

Please the document to be sent out in your fax machine’s feeder.

Dial the subscriber’s fax number and press OK.
Select the FEEDER transmission mode.
Press FAX/COPY.

During document transmission, press DIAL TONE to indicate that you wish to initiate a telephone conversation.
Your fax will sound an initial series of beeps to indicate that your request has been forwarded to the subscriber’s
fax machine; a second series of beeps indicates that the latter has accepted your request.
Pick up the telephone handset and press the DIAL TONE key on your fax machine. You will be able to speak to
the subscriber as soon as the page currently being sent has gone through.

12. LOCAL PREFIX

Your fax machine can add a prefix to all the numbers comprising at least a minimum number of digits which you dial.

This function is useful when your fax machine is set up on a corporate private exchange:

-

internal numbers, for which the prefix is not required, are short (10 digits in France),

-

external numbers, for which a prefix is not required, are short.

For example, if your fax machine is set up on a corporate private exchange where:
-

the prefix required to connect to the public switched telephone network is «0/» (0 followed by pause),

-

internal numbers have 5 digits.

You can program your fax machine to automatically add the prefix «0/» to all numbers dialled which comprise 6 or more
digits.

Note :

Prefixes are also added to numbers in the directory.
If you program the unit to automatically add a prefix to dialled numbers, ensure you do not incorporate such a prefix
independently in front of the numbers you enter in the directory.
