Step 10: Alarm notification

There are various alarm notification mechanisms in CyberEyes: Message (only available if your operating

system is Windows 2000 or XP), Alert, E-mail, and Phone. These alarm notification mechanisms will only be

activated when a check mark is placed beside each function in Channel Settings. For any of the alarm

notification mechanisms to work, you must configure the related settings.

The Message alarm notification
function is only available if your
operating system is Windows 2000 or
XP. To configure the Message alarm
notification setting, please go to
Channel Settings and choose the
Alarm tab by clicking on it. Choose
the Message tab by clicking on it.

Add in the name(s) of the computers
on the same Local Area Network as
the host computer to send the
message alarm notification to in the
case of a detected alarm.

Click OK to finish configuring the
Message alarm notification settings.

The minimum alarm interval here refers to the minimum time
length between an alarm notification and the next alarm notification.
For example, if the minimum alarm interval value is set to 1
minute
, as this case shows, then in the case of a detected motion,
the alarm notification is going to notify once only for the first time
CyberEyes detects an alarm. Then CyberEyes is going to wait until
a full minute is passed since the last alarm notification before
sending out another alarm notification (if motion is constantly
detected by CyberEyes, i.e. kids playing in front of the driveway).

The maximum value of the minimum alarm interval is 59 min and
59 seconds. The minimum alarm interval value you set applies for
all of the alarm notification mechanisms.
