This chapter provides details on how to configure Border Gateway Protocol version 4 (BGP4) using
the CLI.
BGP4 is described in RFC 1771. The Brocade implementation fully complies with RFC 1771. The
Brocade BGP4 implementation also supports the following RFCs:
• RFC 1745 (OSPF Interactions)
• RFC 1997 (BGP Communities Attributes)
• RFC 2385 (TCP MD5 Signature Option)
• RFC 2439 (Route Flap Dampening)
• RFC 2796 (Route Reflection)
• RFC 2842 (Capability Advertisement)
To display BGP4 configuration information and statistics, refer to “Displaying BGP4 information” on
page 729.
This chapter shows the commands you need in order to configure the Layer 3 Switch for BGP4.
NOTE
Your Layer 3 Switch management module must have 32MB or higher to run BGP4.
