Troubleshooting

The following sections discuss symptoms, explanations, and actions required for
troubleshooting Quartet.

Symptom

System does not power ON.

Explanation

Power cable is not fully connected or fuse is blown.

Action

1.

Turn OFF the power on the MRP.

2.

Ensure proper power cable connection.

3.

Check fuse and replace with a 3A, 110V fuse.

4.

Turn system back ON.

Symptom

There are problems when trying to learn the IR keys on the Quartet keypad.

Explanation

There could be several things to check for.

Action

1.

Check to make sure that the IR emitter output connection is using the port with the
same number as the source connected to the MRP. For example, a source con-
nected by RCA analog to Audio Input 1 on the MRP should have the IR emitter
running from IR Out 1 on the MRP.

2.

If number 1 is OK, then consult the owner’s manual for the source equipment to
double check that the IR codes are transmitting at the same frequency. The default
IR setting for the Quartet system is 38KHz; however, if the source connected to the
input takes IR codes that are transmitting at 56KHz, you will need to change the IR
