420 Digital Indicator

The 420 is a single-channel serial weight indicator housed in a NEMA 4X/IP66-rated stainless steel enclosure. The
indicator front panel consists of a large (1.8 in, 44.5 mm), six-digit, seven-segment LED display and 21 button
keypad.
Features of the standard CLS-420 include:

Two configurable digital inputs and two configurable outputs

Electronic data processing (EDP) port dedicated to communication with the two-channel iQube in forklift
applications.

Printer port for full duplex RS-232 or active transmit only 20 mA current loop communications at up to
38400 bps

NTEP certified

9-36 VDC input - VDC range of new power supply

The setpoint key on the indicator can be used for wireless versions to display battery hours remaining.

Figure 1-2 shows the 420 LED annunicators, keypad, and normal mode key functions.

The symbols shown above the keys (representing up, down, enter, left, right), describe the key functions assigned
in setup mode. In setup mode, the keys are used to navigate through menus, select digits within numeric values and
increment/decrement values.
The 420 also has a

Power

key. Use the

Power

key to turn the indicator on or off.

WARNING

The 420 has an off/off switch for the processor functions. Before opening the unit, ensure the 420 is
disconnected from the forklift battery power source.
