Automatic reception

When receiving a fax cali, the unit will automatically activate the fax function, then initiate

reception.

Set the receiving mode to

ANS/FAX, TEL/FAX

or

FAX

mode.

CAUTION:

- Do not let more than 70 sheets of 75 g/m^(20 lb.) paper accumulate at one time in the

receiving tray. This may cause a paper jam.

NOTE:

- White programming a function or printing a list, the unit will not receive documents

automatically. In this case the unit will ring until you answer the call.

Receiving in the ANS/FAX mode:

Make sure that the unit is in the

ANS/FAX

mode.

- The current receiving mode is shown on the

display.

A call comes in.

- The unit will ring, depending on the setting of the

rings in the

ANS/FAX

mode.

You can change the ring count, see page 163.

■ When receiving a fax call, the unit automatically

activate the fax function to receive documents.

- The START indicator light is on while receiving

the fax-messages.

■ When receiving a voice-call, the unit plays your

greeting message for the

ANS/FAX

mode and will

record an incoming voice message.

HELPFUL HINT:

- If the other party wishes to leave a message and transmit a document on the same call, let

them know the instructions on page 64 in advance.

NOTES:

- A telephone fee is charged to callers from the moment the unit plays your greeting message.
- Begin by transmitting the leaflet found on page 241 to your associates. In this way you can

inform the procedure for transmitting documents and/or recording voice-messages on your
unit.
