Operating the Answering Device

The unit also works as an automatic telephone answering and recording system.
When the unit answers a call in the

ANS/FAX

mode, the caller hears your greeting message for

the

ANS/FAX

mode, and then the unit starts recording the caller’s message.

The unit can save 10 minutes of incoming messages, memo message (see page 73), telephone
conversation {see page 74) and greeting messages.

NOTES:

- If the incoming messages are noisy, the recording time might be less than 10 minutes.
- While activating the fax function, you cannot operate the answering device.
- When a fax transmission or telephone operation takes place while operating the answering

device, your operation of the answering device will be interrupted.

Make sure that the unit is in the ANS/FAX mode.

- The current receiving mode is shown on the

display.

Press TIME LEFT to confirm the time left for
recording of incoming messages.

- Press TIME LEFT again or STOP to clear the

display.

- When a call is received, the unit answers the call

and begins playback of your greeting message for
the A/VS/FAX mode.

- The unit automatically distinguishes between

voice and fax calls, and then functions as an
answering device and/or a facsimile.

NOTES:

- The recording time for incoming messages can be set to “unlimited” (pre-selected setting) or

“1 minute”. To change the recording time, see page 165.

- When the remaining time is little, erase useless messages from memory. See page 72.
- When there is no room left in memory to record a message, the display shows the following

message. Erase some or all messages (see page 72).
