The Offroad button
In the Offroad settings window, you can
set whether the Traffic Assist starts route
guidance if:

• You are in a non-digitised area (of-

froad).

• Your destination is in a non-digitised

area.

With activated offroad function, the Traf-
fic Assist displays the direction of the
nearest digitised road, or the direction
from the digitised road nearest to the des-
tination, to the destination in the non-
digitised area. See "Offroad navigation"
on page 70.

The Offroad settings window appears.

in order to acti-

vate or deactivate the offroad function.

> Confirm your selection by pressing the

button.

What is dynamic route guid-
ance?

Dynamic route guidance calculates the
route, while taking into account current
traffic announcements.

Traffic announcements are transmitted by
radio stations via the TMC (Traffic Mes-
sage Channel) in addition to the radio
programme and are received and analysed
by the navigation system. Receiving traffic
announcements is free of charge.

Note:
Dynamic route guidance is not available
for all countries (currently only Belgium,
Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, The
Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Switzer-
land and Spain).
In Germany, messages are also received
via TMCpro.
TMC reception must be available in or-
der to activate dynamic navigation and
the functions described below.
