8-10 ENGINE BOTTOM END
Coupling
•
Install:
Pins [A]
Gasket [B]
•
Position the magnet lead [C] as shown.
•
Apply grease to the oil seal lip.
•
Install the output cover.
○
Run the magneto lead [A] between the magneto cover [B]
and the output cover [C] as shown.
Torque - Output Cover Bolts: 7.8 N·m (0.80 kgf·m, 69 in·lb)
•
Install the coupling damper to the coupling.
•
Holding the timing rotor, screw the coupling onto the out-
put shaft and tighten it.
Special Tools - Flywheel & Pulley Holder: 57001-1605
Holder Attachment: 57001-1547
Coupling Holder #2: 57001-1423
Torque - Coupling: 98 N·m (10.0 kgf·m, 72 ft·lb)

Install:
Crankshaft Sensor Cover
Engine (see Engine Removal/Installation chapter)
Coupling Damper Inspection
•
Refer to Coupling Damper Inspection in the Periodic
Maintenance chapter.
Output Cover Oil Seal Replacement
•
Remove:
Output Cover (see Coupling/Output Shaft Removal)
•
Using the bearing driver [A], remove the oil seals as a set.
