NOTE:

The tree displays journal groups used with XP Continuous Access Journal, and does

not display journal groups used with Hitachi Universal Replicator for z/OS.

Journal Groups: Located at the top of the tree. When selected, the upper-right list displays
journal groups in the local array.

Registered: When selected, the upper-right list displays journal groups in which journal
volumes are registered.

When you double-click this item, the tree displays journal groups in which journal volumes
are registered. When you select a journal group in the tree, information about the journal
group appears in the upper-right list. If you select a journal group that uses multiple mirror
IDs, the list displays information about the data volume belonging to the journal group
whose mirror ID is not in Hold or Hold(Failure) status.

The journal group icons are:

Journal group in initial status.

Journal volumes are registered in this journal group, but no data volumes (primary
or secondary data volumes) are registered in this journal group.

Initial

Master journal group.

Journal groups and primary data volumes are registered in this journal group.

Master

Restore journal group.

Journal groups and secondary data volumes are registered in this journal group.

Restore

Free: When selected, the upper-right list displays journal groups in which no journal
volumes are registered.

When you double-click this item, the tree displays journal groups in which no journal
volumes are registered.

Display all JNL groups:

NOTE:

This check box appears only if you are logged onto an XP10000.

If this check box is cleared, the list below the check box displays only journal groups numbered
00 to 0F.

If this check box is selected, the list below the check box displays journal groups numbered
00 to FF.

CAUTION:

You cannot perform the following operations on journal groups numbered 10

to FF:

Registering journal volumes in journal groups

Deleting journal volumes from journal groups

Changing options for journal groups

Restoring mirrors (Pairresync: resuming copy operations)

Upper-right list: If you select a master or restore journal group in the tree, the upper-right list
displays a list of mirrors. A mirror is a combination of a master journal group and a restore
journal group.

If you select another journal group in the tree, the upper-list displays information about the
selected journal group.
