Table 54 Troubleshooting problems with status of logical paths (continued)

Corrective action

Description

Pair status

Delete the path using the Delete Path or
Delete DKC command, and add the
path and remote array again using the
Add Path or Add DKC command.

Program error detected.

Program Error

Delete the failed path. You might need
to change the minimum paths setting or
delete the remote array to delete the
path. After deletion finishes, add the
path and remote array using the Add
Path or Add DKC command.

Table 55 Troubleshooting suspended XP Continuous Access Journal pairs

Corrective action

Description

Applies to

Suspend type

Clear the error condition at
the secondary array or
secondary data volume. To
access the secondary data
volume, delete the pair from
the primary array. If data in
the secondary data volume
has been changed, delete
the pair from the primary
array, and recreate the pair
using the Paircreate pane. If
data in the secondary data
volume has not been
changed, restore the pair
from the primary array.

Primary array suspended a
pair because the primary
array detected an error
condition at the secondary
array. The suspend type for
the secondary data volume
is by MCU.

Primary data volume

PSUE, by RCU

Check the path status on the
DKC Status pane (see

Table 54 (page 196)

).

Clear any error conditions
at the secondary array and
secondary data volume. To
access the secondary data
volume, delete the pair from
the secondary array. If data
in the secondary data
volume has been changed,
delete the pair from the
primary array, and re-create
the pair using the Paircreate
pane. If data in the
secondary data volume has
not been changed, restore
the pair from the primary
array.

Primary array detected an
error during communication
with the secondary array or
detected an I/O error during
update copy. In this case,
the suspend type for the
secondary data volume is
usually by MCU.

Primary data volume

PSUE, S-VOL Failure

Restore the pair (pairresync)
from the primary array. The
primary array performs an
initial copy operation in
response to the pairresync
request, so the entire
primary data volume is
copied to the secondary
data volume.

Primary array could not find
valid control information in
its nonvolatile memory
during the IMPL procedure.
This error occurs only if the
primary array is without
power for more than
48 hours (power failure and
fully discharged batteries).
