Path Watch Time (1 to 60 min): Interval beginning when a path is blocked and ending when
a mirror is split (suspended).

This value must be from 1 to 59 minutes, 1 to 23 hours, or 1 to 30 days. You can specify a
numeric value in Path Watch Time.

CAUTION:

If the DKCMAIN microcode version is 50-05-03-00/00 or later, the Path Watch

Time setting does not take effect because SVP mode 449 is set to ON at the factory setting.
To make the Path Watch Time setting take effect, contact your HP account support representative
to set mode 449 to OFF.

CAUTION:

To downgrade the DKCMAIN microcode version to lower than 50-09-00-00/00,

you must set the Path Watch Time within the range of 1 to 59 minutes before downgrading
DKCMAIN, or set it within the range of 1 to 60 minutes after downgrading DKCMAIN. If the
Path Watch Time is outside the range of 1 to 59 minutes before you downgrade DKCMAIN,
the Path Watch Time might not be displayed after DKCMAIN is downgraded. Use the JNL
Group Detail panel to check the Path Watch Time.

NOTE:

Ensure that the same interval is set for the master and restore journal groups in the

same mirror unless otherwise requested. If the interval differs between the master and restore
journal groups, these journal groups are not suspended simultaneously. For example, if the
master journal group's interval is 5 minutes and the restore journal group's interval is 60
minutes, the master journal group is suspended 5 minutes after a path is blocked and the
restore journal group is suspended 60 minutes after a path is blocked.

NOTE:

To split (suspend) a mirror immediately after a path is blocked, contact your

HP account support representative to set system option mode 448 to ON and set SVP mode
449 to OFF. For more information about modes 448 and 449, see

Table 29 (page 122)

.

NOTE:

If the DKCMAIN microcode version lower than 50-09-00-00/00 is used and the

Path Watch Time is set to 60 minutes, the Path Watch Time will be displayed as 60 minutes
even if you upgrade DKCMAIN to version 50-09-00-00/00 or higher.

NOTE:

If you want a mirror to get split (suspended) immediately after a path gets blocked,

ask the Support Center to set the system option mode 448 to ON and set the system option
mode 449 to OFF. For detailed information about the modes 448 and 449, see

Table 29 (page

122)

.

Table 29 System option modes

Description

Mode

ON: If SVP detects a blocked path, SVP assumes an error occurred, and
immediately splits (suspends) the mirror.

OFF: If SVP detects a blocked path and the path does not recover within
the specified time period, SVP assumes an error occurred, and splits
(suspends) the mirror.

NOTE:

The mode 448 setting takes effect only when mode 449 is set

to OFF.

448

ON: SVP does not detect blocked paths.

OFF: SVP detects blocked paths and monitors the time until the mirrors
are split (suspended).

NOTE:

Mode 449 is OFF by default for DKCMAIN versions earlier than

50-05-03-00/00, and is ON by default for DKCMAIN microcode versions
50-05-03-00/00 or later. If the DKCMAIN microcode of your array is
upgraded from earlier than 50-05-03-00/00 to 50-05-03-00/00 or later,
the default value of mode 449 remains OFF.
