Transferring business tasks from XP Continuous Access Journal secondary sites to primary sites

If you follow the instructions in

Recovering from primary site and XP Continuous Access Synchronous

secondary site failures

and remove failures from the primary site and XP Continuous Access

Synchronous secondary site, you can transfer your business tasks back to the primary site.

To transfer your business tasks back to the primary site:

1.

Use XP RAID Manager to delete the XP Continuous Access Synchronous pair.

2.

Use XP RAID Manager to resynchronize the Journal pair in the DC3-to-DC1 direction (see the
upper-right portion of

Figure 39 (page 84)

).

3.

Stop your business tasks at the XP Continuous Access Journal secondary site.

4.

Use XP RAID Manager to execute the

horctakeover

command on the XP Continuous Access

Journal pair. The XP Continuous Access Journal primary and secondary volumes are reversed
to the DC1-to-DC3 direction.

5.

Use the primary volume at the primary site to resume your business tasks.

6.

Use XP RAID Manager to resynchronize the XP Continuous Access pair. The system configuration
changes to the original 3DC multi-target configuration (see the lower-right portion of

Figure 39 (page 84)

).
