Volume that can Be Used to Create Pairs

When you create an XP Continuous Access Journal pair consisting of an HP XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array volume and an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array volume, the HP XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array volume must be a volume of LDKC00. The CU:LDEV number of LDKC00 is between
00:00 and 3F:FF.

Up to 16,384 volumes of LDKC00 (the CU:LDEV number is between 00:00 and 3F:FF) can be
used for volume pairs in the current version.

The steps to use data volume pairs in a system configuration where an HP XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array and an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array are connected are the same as the steps to use
data volume pairs of an HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array. For detailed information about the
steps to use data volume pairs, see

“Performing XP Continuous Access Journal Pair Operations”

Connection with an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array for a 3DC Remote Copy
Configuration

An HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array can execute a remote copy in a 3DC cascading configuration
or 3DC multi-target configuration by combining XP Continuous Access Journal with XP Continuous
Access Synchronous. An HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk
Array can be connected in a 3DC cascading configuration or 3DC multi-target configuration.
When you connect an HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk
Array, there are no restrictions for the combination of the primary and secondary sites.
