“DISTANCE” records the log entry after a transceiver leaves exceeding the preconfigured distance from the point where

the log was recorded last. The value of Distance can be configured in the range from 0.01 to 9.99. The unit of DISTANCE

can be selected from km, mile and nm in DISPLAY UNIT 1 (Menu No. 626) in the APRS menu.

Configuring BEACON enables recording the log immediately after a BEACON is transmitted each time. Using

SmartBeaconing in conjunction enables more efficient logging at a turn in the road.

Memory usage for logging can be viewed in the Log Memory screen. The Log Memory screen is the 2nd page from the

Latitude longitude, Time, Altitude, Travel direction, Speed,Grid square locator, PTT frequency screen to be accessed by

repeatedly pressing the [→] key.
