A confirmation message appears that asks you to confirm that you want to change callsign. Click the “Yes” button.

Enter in the Callsign edit box your callsign with ‑L at the end such as W6DJY‑L. Click the “OK” button.

A server message will display that indicates the new callsign must be validated. You must close the EchoLink software
and validate this new callsign as a link station.
Note:
◆ As shown in the example below, the link station callsign is treated as a different station even if the same callsign (without the
-L) has been validated previously. In the case of “W6DJY”, the EchoLink software differentiates between “W6DJY” (single
user), “W6DJY-L” (link station) and “W6DJY-R” (repeater station), and different node numbers will be assigned. Because of
this, you must validate a link station (or repeater station) callsign by going to
http://echolink.org/v
