Indication in case of the occurrence of an EPS-R
module failure or cooling fan module failure
The power supply module and cooling fan modules can be
arranged in a redundant configuration by adding on more of these
devices. If cooling fans are arranged in a redundant configuration,
each intake fan and exhaust fan at the front and rear are treated as a
pair as shown below so that, if one of the mating fans fails, the
other fan will continue to cool down the system.
NOTE: The standard fan and the redundant fan operate at all
times during regular operation.
A CPU fan is attached to the 3.06 GHz CPU module. This fan
cannot be arranged in a redundant configuration.
Locations of EPS-R module and cooling fans
NOTE: When a 3.06 GHz CPU module is mounted, no
exhaust fan duct is required.
