What’s in This Manual Use this manual to design and install a DeviceNet ™ cable system. This manual
describes the required components of the cable system and how to design for
and install these required components. This manual also contains a chapter on
general network troubleshooting tips.
Who Should Read This
Manual We assume that you have a fundamental understanding of:
• electronics and electrical codes
• basic wiring techniques
• ac and dc power specifications
• load characteristics of the devices attached to the DeviceNet network

“open” interchangeably.
