Step 13. Verify that a properlyĆsized ground wire is installed and a suitable earth ground is used.

Check for and eliminate any grounds between the motor frame and the motor power leads.

Verify that all ground leads are unbroken.

Step 14. Uncouple the motor from any driven machinery to initially start the drive.

8.2 Installing the Cover for NEMA 4X/12 Drives

In order to maintain the integrity of the NEMA 4X/12 enclosures, care must be taken when

reĆinstalling the covers. Use the following steps to reĆinstall the covers:
Step 1. Before installing the cover, check that the gaskets on the cover are flat and within the gasket

channels.

Step 2. Position the cover and sequentially tighten the four (4) captive screws to ensure even

compression of the gaskets. Do not exceed 2.2 Nm (20 inĆlbs) of torque on these screws.

8.3 Powering Up After Installation is Complete

Use the following procedure to verify that the drive is installed correctly and is receiving the proper

line voltage:
Step 1. Turn the drive's input power disconnect to the On position.
Step 2. Apply power to the drive.
Step 3. Follow the startĆup procedure in instruction manual D2Ć3339.
