Description
To create a virtual RAM disk drive using memory above the
lower 640K, use the SDISK.SYS device driver in CONFIG.SYS.
The printer preserves this virtual drive (assigned in the order
specified in CONFIG.SYS) and its files while the printer is
turned off.
To use this driver, you must include it in the
disk image.
Syntax
DEVICE=SDISK.SYS[disksize[sectorsize[rootentries]]] [/R]
Parameter
Description
disksize
The RAM disk’s size in kilobytes. Values are 64
and 128. The default is 128.
sectorsize
The sector size in bytes. Values are 128, 256,
512, and 1024. The default is 512.
rootentries
The number of entries in the root directory.
Values are 2-1024. The default is 64.
/R
Specifies the driver should initialize memory with
an empty file system at every startup.
In most cases, you should use the defaults
for disksize, sectorsize, and rootentries.
