Access Sy stem56 Self-Testing

The self-testing can be performed via either the Acces s System56 control
panel or an external terminal or PC. The instructions below assume that
the unit’s control panel is being used. Chapte r6, Auxiliary Ports,
describes usage of an external terminal.

T1/FT1 mode self-
testing

If the Local Loop is presently Off, the Network

ALARM

indicator should

be illuminated. If the Local Loop is presently On, the Network

ALARM

indicator should be extinguished. Depress

SELECT

to turn the loop On

and Off while confirming proper functioning of the Network

ALARM

indicator. Leave the Local loop in the On condition.
