Security Protocol—Select the security protocol to be used by the IPsec proposal. Options are

AH, ESP, and AH + ESP.

AH AuthN—This parameter appears only when AH or AH + ESP is selected for Security
Protocol. Select the authentication algorithm to be used by the AH security protocol.

Options are MD5 and SHA1.

ESP AuthN—This parameter appears only when ESP or AH + ESP is selected for Security
Protocol. Select the authentication algorithm to be used by the ESP security protocol.

Options are MD5, SHA1, and None.

ESP Encryt—This parameter appears only when ESP or AH + ESP is selected for Security
Protocol. Select the encryption algorithm to be used by the ESP security protocol. Options
are None, DES, 3DES, AES(128), AES(192), and AES(256).

Click OK.

4.

Import an IPsec proposal template:

a.

Click the Import the security proposal from the template icon

next to the Proposal Name

field.
The Select IPsec Proposals dialog box appears.
The IPsec Proposal List displays all the IPsec proposals matching the encapsulation mode
specified on the Basic Settings tab.
You can add, modify, or delete the IPsec proposals displayed on the IPsec Proposal List on the

IPsec VPN Manager > Security Proposals

page. For more information about managing IPsec

proposals, see "

Managing IPsec proposals

."

b.

In the Query IPsec Proposals area, enter a partial or complete proposal name and click Query.
The IPsec Proposal List displays all IPsec proposals matching the query criterion.

c.

Select the desired IPsec proposal template.

d.

Click OK.
The parameters in the IPsec proposal template are automatically filled in the IPsec proposal

configuration page.

5.

Click OK.

Modifying an existing IPsec proposal

1.

On the IPsec Proposal list, click the Modify icon

for the IPsec proposal you want to modify.

The Modify IPsec Proposal page appears.

2.

Modify the following parameters for the IPsec proposal:

Proposal Name—Cannot be modified.

{

Encapsulation—Cannot be modified.

{

Security Protocol—Select the security protocol to be used in the IPsec proposal. Options are AH,
ESP, and AH + ESP.

AH Authentication —This parameter appears only when AH or AH + ESP is selected for Security
Protocol. Select the authentication algorithm to be used by the AH security protocol. Options

are MD5 and SHA1.

ESP Authentication—This parameter appears only when ESP or AH + ESP is selected for
