Changing the Remote-Copy Mode for a Volume Group

For most remote-copy configurations, you can have only one mode per target system, synchronous
or asynchronous periodic, for all primary volume groups on the primary system.
1.

Stop the primary volume group on the primary system. (Resynchronization snapshots remain
on the system.) Issue either of the following commands:

# stoprcopygroup <group_name>

where <group_name> represents the name of the primary volume group.

or:

# stoprcopygroup -pat <pattern>

where <pattern> represents the pattern of volume group names to stop (for example,
Group*

).

2.

Change the mode of the volume group by issuing either of the following commands:

# setrcopygroup mode <mode_value> <target_name> <group_name>

where:

<mode_value>

—New remote-copy mode (sync or periodic)

<target_name>

—Name of the backup system for the volume group you are changing

<group_name>

—Name of the primary volume group

or:

# setrcopygroup mode <mode_value> <target_name> -pat <pattern>
