NOTE: The nodes (<node:slot:port>) used on the primary system need not correspond
to the nodes used on the secondary system. FC connectivity is ensured by defining the WWNs
for the secondary system, which are shown in the output in the Address column. To verify
the WWN address, issue the showrctransport command.
Solution Problem
You encounter any problems
with the links. 1. Use the dismissrcopylink command to remove the links:
• RCIP: dismissrcopylink <target_name> <N:S:P>:<IP_address>
• RCFC: dismissrcopylink <target_name> <N:S:P:WWN>
2. Repeat the setup from “Verifying Connectivity between Remote-Copy Pairs for
SLD Setup” (page 57) .
Verifying That Virtual Volumes Are Created for SLD Remote Copy
Follow these steps to verify the creation of virtual volumes for remote copy:
1.
Before you create volume groups, ensure that virtual volumes exist on both storage systems.
2. If volumes do not yet exist, create them using the standard volume-creation commands. For
more information about these commands, see the HP 3PAR Command Line Interface
Administrator’s Manual.
3. Ensure that the virtual volumes meant for remote-copy use adhere to the rules for remote-copy
virtual volumes.
For more information, see “Creating Remote-Copy Virtual Volumes” (page 105) .
With HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU2 and later, the volumes can be created automatically on the target
system.
Creating Volume Groups for SLD Remote Copy
Remote-copy volume groups are pairs of virtual volume sets that are logically related and that are
used when data needs to be consistent between specified sets of virtual volumes. For more
information, see
“Working with Volume Groups” (page 110) .
