3.

Verify the reversal of volume group roles by performing the following actions:
a.

Issue the showrcopy command on the target system (System2).

b.

In the Group Information area, check that the Role column for the reversed volume
group displays Primary.

For example, the showrcopy output for System2 shows that the role of sync_group_1.r96
is now Primary:

# showrcopy

NOTE:

It is possible for the reversal of volume group roles to fail due to a timeout during

the switchover operation. If the role of the reversed volume group is displayed as
Primary-Rev

, you must manually complete the reverse operation on the volume group by

running the following command on the failover system (System2):

setrcopygroup reverse -natural <group_name>

4.

(Optional) To back up data in the reversed volume groups, export the reversed virtual volumes
(for example, remotevv.0 and remotevv.1) as read/write snapshots.

Troubleshooting Non-disruptive Failover

If the switchover operation does not result in host I/O traffic migrating seamlessly to the target
array, check the following settings in the remote-copy configuration:

Confirm that the remote-copy group is configured for synchronous mode operation.

Confirm that the remote-copy group is synced.

Confirm that the primary and secondary volumes share a common WWN.
