Customized Synchronizations

EFI Professional Services can be contracted to create a customized synchronization with your Active
Directory or LDAP (that is beyond the abilities of the Authentication Package available for Digital
StoreFront). This requires the Authentication Package and the Scope of Work from EFI Professional
Services. EFI Professional Services can perform the following customized synchronizations:

(1) .Net Application Active Directory Sync

This approach would include a custom .Net application that would communicate directly with the
customer's Active Directory. This application would be executed via a scheduled task and the frequency
can be determined by the customer. The application would act upon each record found in the
customer's AD and could be used to perform Adds (new users added to Digital StoreFront), Updates
(updates of existing user profile data in Digital StoreFront), and Deletes (inactivating records in Digital
StoreFront). Note: Users are not deleted from Digital StoreFront. This approach is only for Active
Directory synchronizations.

(2) .Net Application Database Sync

This approach would include similar functionality to the first approach, except instead of
communicating with a customer's Active Directory, this application would synchronize the user data
based on data that it queried from an integration table in the Digital StoreFront database. This approach
is necessary when the customer doesn't have an Active Directory. The customer would be responsible
for developing a process that feeds the user data in an agreed upon format into the integration table
that this application would query. All other functionality (Adds, Updates, Deletes, Scheduling) remains
the same.

How are users added?

Bulk Upload

Users can be added via bulk import. This import can take place periodically to add new users to the
system (each bulk upload process adds the new users and does not overwrite the existing user
database). When LDAP authentication is used, the user profile includes a field that must be filled out
labeled “LDAP name”. This is the User Name and password that is authenticated against the
