Naming Options

The Naming category contains the following options. The changes you make in the Naming options
category are applied to the current network on your computer.

Naming Options

Controls how OpenLNS CT constructs a unique name for new
OpenLNS CT SmartShapes. If there is a naming conflict, OpenLNS
CT will append to a new OpenLNS CT SmartShape name a space,
dash, or other selected separator character followed by an instance ID.
The instance ID starts at 1 and is incremented by one each time a new
SmartShape of a given type (device, router, functional block, and so
on) with an identical name of an existing SmartShape is added to your
OpenLNS CT drawing.

For example, the default name of the first generic device SmartShape
added to your OpenLNS CT drawing is Device. The second generic
device SmartShape is Device 1, but you can change this to Device1,
Device-1, or Device-001 based on the naming options you set.
